Dan Wallace Fulton - January 12, 1947 - August 11, 1997

BOSSIER CITY, LA - SERVICES FOR DAN Wallace Fulton, age 50 of Bossier City were held on Saturday, August 16, 1997 at 10 a.m. at Bellaire Baptist Church in Bossier where he was a member. Rev. Randy Harper, pastor, officiated. Visitation was on Friday, August 15 at Rose-Neath Funeral home in Bossier. Mr. Fulton entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 11, 1997 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in West Monroe on January 12, 1947, and had been a resident of Bossier since 1972. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1964 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University in 1972. He was employed by the State of Louisiana for the past 24 years where he was the DHH Region VII Administrator at the time of his death. He was awarded the certification of Certified Public Manager in 1989 and he was an active member and past board member and president of both the Louisiana and National chapters of the Association of Disability Examiners respectively. Mr. Fulton was also a longstanding member of the Shreveport Amateur Radio Association. Most important, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who dedicated his life to improving the quality of others. Mr. Fulton was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Kay Fulton, his son Jeffrey Brandon Fulton, his grandson Christian Brandon Scott and his father Clyde B. Fulton, Sr. Dan is survived by his daughter Tracey Michelle Cooper of Houston, TX; one son-in-law Jeffrey Cooper of Fort Riley, KS; two grandsons Jeremy Alynn and Jaysen Alexander Cooper of Houston, TX; his mother Lillian Wallace Fulton of Bossier City, LA; his mother and father-in-law Odean and Wayne Kilman of Searcy, AR; one brother, Clyde B. Fulton, Jr. of Houston, TX; one sister, Patricia Kelly and husband Donnie of Natchitoches, LA; two sister-in-laws, Linda Blanchard and husband Joe of Thibodaux, LA, and Patricia Steels of West Monroe, LA; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Danny Allen, Bruce Bryant, Joshua King, Mike McClure, Wayne Parker and Carl Smonski. Honorary pallbearers were the members of LADE and NADE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital or any other charitable organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer.
