Re-Inventing the Mid-Year Board Meeting
by Terri Spurgeon, NADE President-Elect
NEVER LET IT BE SAID that NADE is resistant to change. Case
in point - the site for the final mid-year board meeting of this decade
has been changed.
This year's gathering will take place March 11-13, 1999 at the Ramada Plaza
Hotel Old Town, Alexandria, Virginia. As always, the
meeting is open to anyone interested in attending, but funding is provided
only for the NADE board.
Flights should be scheduled to Washington National Airport (newly named
Reagan National Airport) where the hotel courtesy shuttle
will greet and then transport you to the hotel. Most rooms overlook the
Potomac River and/or our Nation's Capital. Shuttle service is
also offered from the Metro station at the airport and from Old Town Alexandria.
If you should choose to drive, the hotel does offer
complimentary parking.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTEL DIRECTLY FOR RESERVATIONS.
There is a charge for meeting space but on a sliding scale - we will get
credit for guest rooms reserved for this meeting. The hotel
representative has asked that I secure these reservations myself to avoid
billing conflicts. Individuals needing reservations should fax
requests to me, Terri Spurgeon, at (225) 925-1831 or contact my voice mail
at (225) 261-8880. Please be sure to provide your name,
daytime phone number and include any special accomodations required. Room
rates are $138.79, inclusive, with a large continental
breakfast buffet. Detailed information regarding the mid-year agenda will
be available from any NADE board member at a later date.
