Highlights of NADE Delegate Assembly
"Racing To World Class Service"

NADE PRESIDENT SUSAN LAMORTE PRESIDED over the
meeting of the NADE Delegate Assembly. Reports were presented by the National
Officers, Regional Directors, and Committee Chairs. The Delegate Assembly
elected the following officers for 1997-98:
President-Elect
Jeff Price (North Carolina)
Secretary
Shari Bratt (Nebraska)
Treasurer
Lyle Larson (South Dakota)
In addition, the Delegate Assembly recognized the earlier election by the Council of Chapter Presidents of Charlotte Hardin (Kentucky) as its President and representative on the NADE Board.
In other business, the Delegate Assembly took the following actions:
Fixed the dates of the 1998 National Conference as September 20-25, 1998 in Rapid City, South Dakota to be held at the Rushmore Plaza. The 1999 National Conference will be held in Denver, Colorado.
NADE presented a plaque to the new chapter established in Kansas.
ESADE and New Mexico were both recognized for the reactivation of their chapters.
Extended appreciation to President Susan LaMorte for her outstanding leadership of NADE during the past year.
Extended appreciation to the Kentucky Association for Disability Examiners for organizing the National Conference in Louisville.
In Committee reports it was noted that:
President - Elect Debi Gardiner, assisted by Tom Christopher, presented testimony on April 24, 1997, to the House Subcommittee on Social Security concerning the differences in ALJ and DDS decisions.
Corporate membership has increased from five to eight. Currently, there are five Gold Corporate members.
There have been no class actions to date on any of the DC regulation changes.
At the final session of the Conference, Debi Gardiner formally assumed the duties of NADE President for the 1997-98 year.
