Lisa Martin for CCP Chair
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE this opportunity to announce my candidacy for Council of Chapter Presidents (CCP) Chair. I am asking for your support for my nomination and election to this NADE Board position. I have been a member of NADE since September, 1989 and am currently serving as Past President of the Texas Association of Disability Examiners (TADE). I have been a member of CCP for the past two years. In addition, I have served on various NADE committees for the past four years and have two years experience as SWADE Secretary. Within NADE I have served as the 1994 national conference registration chair and as a 1991 national conference registration committee member. I am also an active participant in NADENet. I feel that the primary duty of CCP chair is to facilitate communication among chapters. I am abreast of redesign issues and feel that it is important for as much of this information to be disseminated as quickly as possible to Chapter Presidents. I also feel it is equally important to foster relationships with other organizations, such as NCDDD, in order to remain objective and focused on how redesign may affect NADE members. I view one of CCP’s most important roles as assisting smaller chapters with membership recruitment/retention, fund raising, civic promotions, and special event ideas. I plan to provide bimonthly mailings to all chapters with updates on redesign and other information that is forthcoming from the NADE Board. These mailings will also include information regarding leadership skills and parliamentary procedure. Individual chapter presidents will be encouraged to share concerns as well as what is working well in their chapters. The exchange of information and ideas is vital in making NADE a strong voice in these ever changing times.
