Interview With QTC Management, Inc.
by Ken Forbes, Pacific Regional Director
AT THE PACIFIC REGIONAL TRAINING Conference
I had the opportunity to talk to Maureen Bennington, Vice President of
QTC Management, Inc. (QTC). Ms. Bennington’s background includes a Master
of Science degree in Rehabilitation Administration from De Paul University
in Chicago, Illinois. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Consultant
and a Certified Claims Manager. Her background uniquely qualifies Ms. Bennington
to manage the diverse medical and professional services offered by QTC.
QTC, appropriately referring to the Quality, Timely and Cost effective
services provided, is headquartered in Diamond Bar, California and is a
gold corporate member of NADE. QTC provides consultative examinations in
many specialty areas to the California Disability Determinations Services
(DDS) through clinics and medical specialists conveniently located in many
cities throughout the state of California. The Pacific Regional Training
Conference provided me an opportunity to tour the Burbank clinic. I noticed
as we arrived that it was easy to identify the clinic from the street and
the parking lot provided convenient parking for clients. The waiting room
was easily accessible and patients were being evaluated by the physicians
in a timely manner. Katie Johnson, Regional Account Manager and Avervatt
Aroian, Area Manager, conducted the tour. Ms. Aroian described the services
provided by the full service clinic which include: onAsite x-ray, laboratory,
cardioApulmonary, and psychological testing. She described how relevant
ancillary testing information is provided to the physician at the time
of the examination (such as x-rays for the Orthopedist). This information
is incorporated in the report. QTC has over 100 physicians within 15 specialty
areas. These physicians serve 23 QTC clinics throughout the state of California.
Ms. Bennington informed me that QTC is centralizing their transcription
services and scheduling. They are also prepared to provide electronic transfer
of information and electronic signature of reports. Electronic transfer
can also be utilized to forward referrals to DDS. These services will greatly
enhance the productivity and efficiency of both agencies. From my conversations
and visit, it is clear that QTC Management, Inc. is committed to the provision
of exceptional service to DDS. Thank you QTC for your support of DDS in
our ongoing efforts to provide exceptional service to claimants.
