Teledictation Proposals Evaluated
by Roger Flannery, Tennessee DDS
SINCE 1989, THE DDS HAS provided teledictation service to medical doctors
and psychologists statewide. This clerical convenience allows them to dial
toll-free and dictate Consultative Exam and Medical Evidence of Record
reports which are transcribed promptly by the teledictation vendor. This
also helps the DDS’s processing time. The current Vendor, whose contract
expires June 30, is Medifax, part of the MRC Group. Several DDS employees
have been working hard since early January on the complex Request for Proposals
procedure. This entails evaluating and scoring both Technical and Cost
portions of each bid submitted. Serving on the team were Ed Anderson, Ginger
Farr, Martha Mays, and Stan Shelly. Lisa Cook provided secretarial support
and Roger Flannery was the coordinator. Invitations to submit a proposal
were sent to sixteen vendors, six of whom presented proposal packages for
evaluation. The successful proposer will be announced soon.
