Tennessee Hosts NADE Officers At Professional Enhancement Event
by Sue Coleman, Tennessee DDS
LARRY DEVANTIER AND KAREN GUNTER IN response to
TADE’s invitation visited the Tennessee DDS in Nashville. On April 3, 1996,
they contributed to Tennessee’s ongoing professional enhancement effort
by making two presentations bookending a reception in their honor. TADE
members and potential members with encouragement from Director, Carroll
Moore, planned the event. Phillip Hanvy with willing helpers set up the
room, while Tony England assisted Catherine Potter and Betty Hafner decorated
it. Joy Moody’s flowers added a graceful touch. Programs for the presentation
were produced by Brenda Covington, Chris Chambers and others. Refreshments
were provided and served by Barry Paget, Elizabeth Pogue, Sharon Summers,
Brenda Spinner and Lynn Hayes. Honorarium gift bags containing Tennessee
products and literature, including “Miss Daisy’s Bi-Centennial Cookbook,”
were assembled and presented by Betty Hood with Phyllis Reneau and Linda
Wilson”s help. A dutch treat luncheon at a nearby hotel was organized by
Sue Coleman. The NADE officers provided balance to Chuck Jones’ presentation
earlier in the year. Easily understood explanations of redesign issues
and thoughtful responses to a number of questions served to clarify many
points while offering another perspective on other aspects of redesign.
TADE enthusiasm is growing and we expect the reemergence of a vita; and
involved chapter. The commitment and assistance of NADE officers is a valuable
contribution to that effort and is greatly appreciated.
