Denver RC Welcomes DDS, Praises Dedication
by Sherry S. Sheely, Colorado DDS

ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1998, DENVER SSA Regional Commissioner Richard Gonzales spoke at the NADE Convention in Rapid City, South Dakota.

He expressed great appreciation for the excellent work the DDSs are doing and stressed that DDS staff make the toughest decisions in the program, ones that are life critical.

Mr. Gonzales acknowledged the great amount of expertise, talent and knowledge the staff of the DDSs use in performing day to day job decisions.

Looking to the future, in 1999, the DDS staff will see the CDR workload grow. The challenge of Childhood cases remains. There will be more emphasis on the systems side of SSA and SSA has learned things that have not worked. Mr. Gonzales stated that the partnership between DDS and SSA gets stronger all of the time and needs to grow even stronger to help us face the challenging workload ahead.

Mr. Gonzales stressed that working together will make a difference. Next year’s workload will be tough but together we can manage it. The DDS dedication to the program is second to none and he appreciates the
hard work done by the DDSs.
