Call For Resolutions

ACCORDING TO WEBSTER, a resolution is a formal statement of opinion or determination adopted by an assembly or other formal group. If you have an opinion that you believe is shared by others in the organization and that you feel NADE should adopt, it’s time to submit it for consideration.

The basic format should be:

WHEREAS: (statement of the facts) NADE is an organization dedicated the promotion of better understanding in the field of disability evaluations. WHEREAS: (more relevant facts) WHEREAS: (continue as needed) THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: (the opinion/position you want supported by NADE) That Disability Professionals Week should be recognized nationally through the creation of a National Holiday by the President and Congress.

The resolution can be as short or long as is necessary to inform the membership of the reason you feel NADE should adopt the opinion/position.

If you have a resolution in mind, submit it to your regional representative on the Resolutions Committee. That representative will see that all other committee members receive the resolution. The committee will consider the resolution, requesting necessary clarification of wording and/or intent from the author.
