NADE’s Strength is Our Membership

THE FUTURE OF OUR ORGANIZATION hinges upon your continued membership in NADE!

NADE’s strength is our membership. As members of NADE we should take an active part in recruiting and also in retaining members.

The August membership report shows a loss of 547 members nationwide as a result of the purge. Total NADE membership for July 2001 was 2,173 but it dropped to 1,626 in August. Several of those who did not renew may no longer work in the DDSs. I would encourage all chapter presidents and membership chairs to make personal contacts with those who appear not to have renewed. Please take time to make them aware of the importance of their membership and encourage them to renew for the 2001-2002 year.

You may also find that members merely forgot and only need a reminder to mail in their NADE dues. Some may have already mailed in their renewals since the August membership report came out. Again I would encourage you to take a closer look at your membership rosters and contact your members about their renewals.

Thus far, twenty-two (22) chapters have requested membership grants. In May/June 2001 NADE Advocate, I informed you of fourteen (14) chapters that had applied for membership grants.

The chapters that have received grants since then are:

Wisconsin Illinois Maine Colorado New York (ESADE) Oklahoma Washington, Spokane (EWADE) Idaho Membership awards will be presented at the 2001 NADE National Conference Awards Luncheon on October 20 in Austin, Texas. Cash prizes and certificates will be given in each of the three categories for numerical growth during the year. The three categories are:

Small Chapters 25 or fewer members

Medium Chapters 26 - 75 members

Large Chapters 76 or more members

Awards will be determined by using the July 2000 to July 2001 membership printouts.
