Candidate Profiles Jeff Price for NADE President
|
The opportunity to serve as NADE President is a very special one and I was privileged to have had this opportunity last year. With the dawn of the new millenium, the disability program, and our respective roles within the program, faces many unique challenges. Many decisions will be made during the next three years that will have a dramatic impact on our profession. The perspective that is so unique to our membership, and which does offer valuable insight into these issues, must be heard. It is the responsibility of the leadership of this Association to deliver our message, to express the concerns of our members, and to offer our solutions. We must speak with a voice that reflects the deep personal commitment our members have as professionals in the disability program. But, we must also speak with a voice that reflects the strong determination our members have to be treated fairly and as equal partners in the decision making process.
I believe my experience will be a valuable asset in this endeavor. We must work with our partners in the disability program to achieve reasonable solutions for our concerns. We must also seek to obtain the proper recognition and reward our members deserve as disability professionals, and to work within the disability program to explore new ways to improve the quality of service that we offer to those who seek our assistance.
For these reasons, I am asking for your support of my candidacy for President-elect. NADE has made a difference and, with all of us working together, we can continue to make a difference. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey H. Price
