Retirement of Carroll D. Moore, Director of Tennessee DDS
by Elizabeth Pogue, TADE President
AFTER 39 YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED service to TN
DDS and six years as Director, Carroll D. Moore retired December 2000.
Carroll has been extremely active in supporting the local NADE chapter,
as well as the regional and national organization. He served as National
President of NADE from 1983 to 1984, and later served as national Legislative
Chair from 1992 to 1995. Our chapter’s reactivation in 1996 is directly
attributed to Carroll’s leadership and encouragement. He will be sorely
missed, but also remembered with affection and appreciation by the Tennessee
DDS and all of his colleagues and friends throughout NADE.
The DDS Staff and medical consultants hosted a retirement party in Carroll’s honor December 18, 2000. The room was decorated in a Western theme because of Carroll’s great interest in Western history. Many guests attended, including both state and federal dignitaries. Several gifts and plaques were presented to Carroll, including a civil war book given by the TADE membership. TADE members greeted guests and served refreshments. We certainly hope to see Carroll at the BI-regional conference here in May. We congratulate Carroll and wish him and his family the best in his retirement.
