NADE Board to Meet in D.C.

The NADE Board of Directors will hold their annual
mid-year Board meeting at the Holiday Inn at the Capitol in Washington,
D. C. March 28 - April 1, 2001. The Board meeting is open to all NADE members.
Among the topics expected to dominate the Board’s agenda are the current
status of prototype, NADE’s relationship with the new SSA Commissioner
and the new administration, disability program integrity issues, disability
program funding issues, the future of training, and several organizational
issues, including a detailed examination of NADE’s long range plan. The
NADE Board will play host to several guests during the Board’s deliberations.
These guests will offer reports regarding current events and invite the
Board’s participation in discussions regarding the future of the disability
program. Included in this list of guests are top executives from SSA, GAO,
the Social Security Advisory Board, congressional staff persons, executives
from the National Academy of Social Insurance, NCDDD, and many other organizations
whose headquarters are in the Washington, D.C./Baltimore area. NADE’s executive
leaders will also take time during the week to meet with many congressional
leaders regarding current legislative issues that pertain to the disability
program.
The Board meeting will be an exciting event for any member of the Association to attend and participate in. NADE members who plan to attend the Board meeting should contact Jeff Price, President-elect of NADE, so that the necessary arrangements can be made to accommodate each guest.
